Young Steinway Artist

Yidi Ding started studying piano at the age of 5, and ever since he began his formal studies, he has shown promising talent. Now he is often invited to perform for many esteemed Organizations and Institutions at Carnegie Hall. At the age of 6, he held his solo recital at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and was invited by China Record Corporation to release his first album. Yidi has won over 20 First Prizes in many prestigious piano competitions in America, Europe and China.

In 2019, at the age of seven, Yidi was accepted to The Juilliard School Pre-College division, and became one of their youngest enrolled students. He was then selected by the Lang Lang International Music Foundation to join the Young Scholars program. Yidi has received high praised from famous pianists and professors, such as Mr. Lang Lang, Mr. Gary Graffman, and Dr. Yoheved Kaplishky, as they see Yidi as a very gifted musician and performed with maturity far beyond his age. He often receivie mentorship from Mr. Lang Lang since he was 6 year old.

With Yidi’s passion towards Piano he has developed interests in composition, conducting and vocal, he completed the composition of several piano pieces two years ago, such as `Panda Song', `Happy Monkey`. His composition teacher, Mr. Utar Artun, is a voting member of the Grammy Award, and have given a lot of inspiration to Yidi’s composition and music career. Yidi has finished several piano recently completed his first piano concerto “Spring is coming” recently.

Yidi is a warmhearted young pianist and love to share his music. In May, 2020, he was one of the youngest performer invited to participate in "Transfer Love-Relay Concert of Global Chinese Musicians" organized by China Education Television and Beijing Youth Broadcasting Station. Yidi often performs at senior centers, churches, and open to public performances. He hopes to continue sharing his music to those who never experience a live performance in concert halls.

His many accomplishments include:

September 2017, he won the first prize in the children's category of "The Sound of the Yangtze River" Yangtze River Delta Musci Cup Finals.
November 2017, he won the first prize in the children's category of "The Pearl Kayserburg" International Youth Piano Competition.
February 2018, he won the first prize in the 8th Hong Kong International Piano Invitational Finals and the first prize in the young children category and the first prize in the Chinese Music Examination Group (no age limit).
March 2018, he won the first prize and the "Special Talent Award" in the Children's Category of the US Golden Classical Music International Music Competition, and was invited to perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York.
June 2018, he performed at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center and held a personal recital.
In July 2018, he won the first prize in "The Vienna International Music Competition" children's category and "The Best Juvenile Talent Award" with a perfect score of 100 points, and was invited to perform in the Golden Hall of Vienna.
In May 2018, at the invitation of the Chinese record company, recorded a personal CD album "LiuLingqin Ding Yidi Piano Performance Collection".
August 2018, won the first prize in the children's group of the first Liszt Junior Piano Competition in the Netherlands and so on.
April 2019, he was admitted to the pre-collage of the Juilliard school at the age of 7 years and became the youngest student in the school.
September 2019, he was invited to play at the Trump Golf Club in the United States and was amazed by the audience.
January 2020, he was selected as the "Young Scholar Program" by LangLang's New York International Music Foundation.
May 2020, at the youngest age, he was invited to participate in "Transfer Love-Relay Concert of Global Chinese Musicians" jointly organized by China Education Television and Beijing Youth Broadcasting Station.
June 2020, he started study composing and conducting. Now he have finished the creation of several piano pieces. The first work-"Song of Panda" was highly praised by the American Grammy composition judges.
October 2020, he won the first place in the children's category at the Steinway Piano Competition in USA’s three states (New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey) with a full score.
December 2020, he won the “GRAND PRIX “CROWN OF STARS” at the Global MUSIC and STARS AWARDS competiation.
April, 2021, he won the first prize at the Swiss ISCART International Music Competition.
September, 2021, he won the championship in the 8th Global Outstanding Chinese Artists Association(GOCAA) in 2021
In December, 2021, he won the first prize at the New Jersey Music Teachers Association (NJMAT) Young Musicians Competition for Piano.
In February,2022, he won the first prize at the Philadelphia Music Teachers Association（PHMAT）music competition.
In March, 2022, he won the frist prize at the 2022 American Music Talent Competition Application.
In March, 2022, he graduated from the ‘Young Schoolars Program `2020-2022’ of The LangLang International Music Foundation, and was invited to performance at Carnegie Hall.
In April, 2022, he won the frist prize at the 2022 Bravura Philharmonic Young Artists Concerto Competition,and was invited to perform with the Bravura Philharmonic.
In June, 2022, he won the second prize at the 2022 Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition.
In January, 2023, he won the first prize at the 2022 PIMF(Philadelphia International Music Festival) Concerto Competition.
In April, 2023, he became the Youngest "Young Steinway Artist" in the world.
